Beautiful Limoges studio decorated plate, hand painted with a pink and white rose garland cascading out of a gold enamel lyre or vase against a pale chartreuse ground. The heavily scalloped rim is edged in sponged gold. The plate measures 9 1/4" in diameter and is in good condition with a short, fine, underglaze crack on the back, please see second to last photo. There is no corresponding crack on the front of the plate, please see last photo, and since it is underglaze I would speculate it was a superficial crack on the back of the white ware and so was fired into the plate. Factory marked A.L. Limoges France with anchor, (Mark 4) used by A. Lanternier from 1891 until 1914, and studio marked A. Lanternier Limoges France, (Mark 6) also used from 1891 until 1914.
