Romantic Art Nouveau German porcelain candle holder or chamber stick, hand painted with purple violets and lavished with gold. The mold has an attached handle to carry the piece. It is printed Germany on the underside with an unidentified mark. The mark is similar to the crossed swords of Meissen and is in the same style since there were many German porcelain factories who copied both the style and the mark. Measures 5 1/2" long and 3 1/8" wide at it's widest point and is 1 1/2" tall. This petite candle holder is in excellent condition with no damage or losses and no wear to the gold or the painting. The gold on the handle, likewise, is unworn. Circa 1890.
