Tall and glorious Nippon vase with ruffled rim and hand painted with cherry blossoms. The leaves and stems of the cherry branch are painted all the way around this piece, making it delightful from any angle. The blossoms are painted in the Moriage, or raised paint. Moriage dots are also along the gold rim and base, the heavy gold used is all in exceptional condition with barely a hint of wear. The background colors on this piece are very pleasing, masterfully blended by the artist. The piece is marked with the Nippon blue Maple leaf, used starting in 1891. This vase stands 10 1/2" tall, the rim flares from 3 3/4" to 4" across, the bottom diameter of the piece is 5 3/4" at it's widest diameter. It is a graceful, elegant piece from a private collection. Condition is excellent with no damage.
