Absolutely fabulous miniature porcelain flower frog. Nude woman standing amid reeds and grasses. Marked Germany, and has an incised number on the back base. This piece is pictured in Flower Frogs for Collectors, by Bonnie Bull. The one pictured is 4" tall, so at 3", this one is even smaller than that. I can not make out the incised numbers, but the ending numbers differ from the 4" frog pictured in Bull's book, which makes sense since this one is even smaller. It is known as September Morn. Standing only 3" tall, the base measures 2 1/8" x 1 3/4". Excellent condition. Germany exported flower frogs to the US between 1920-1930. This one, in miniature form, is among the less common to more rare of the German imports. No collection of flower frogs would be complete without at least one miniature. This one is a great example, even smaller than the book piece. Circa 1920-1930.
