Sensational and gorgeous Charles Haviland Limoges gravy boat with double handles. Hand painted antique French porcelain, this two piece gravy or sauce boat is dripping with real Roman coin gold, with double gold handles and heavily gold painted orchids, with flowing leaves and stems. The gold handles extend down the length of the piece, with more gold around the top rim and base of the sauce boat and the rim of the under plate. A fabulous Art Nouveau mold with gold scrolls and flourishes which set it off perfectly. The background is a deep creamy ivory that accentuates the heavy décor. Both pieces are marked C.F.H. (Charles Field Haviland) and G.D.M. (Gerard, Dufraisseix and Morel) and both are signed by the artist, M.E.P., and dated 1892. The factory mark was used from 1882-1890. The under plate measures 7" in length, the sauce boat is 7 1/4" in length and stands 3 3/4" tall on it's under plate. Both pieces are in excellent condition with no damage or losses, and barely a hint of gold wear. Exquisite.
