Outstanding porcelain double handle center bowl or tray in a magnificent Art Deco mold. Signed E. Miler, this gorgeous piece is exquisitely hand painted by renowned American porcelain artist, Esther Miler. Miler has painted her signature fabulous roses in pink and ivory, with fat glorious rosebuds nestled against beautiful green leaves and a lovely background of pink, peach, and blue. Heavy gold is lavishly painted on the handles and around the rim. The exterior of the piece is painted with a soft, pale green. The Art Deco mold leads us to believe this piece may have been painted later in Esther Miler's life (in the 1920's) since Miler lived until 1931. The mold is unmarked, however Miler painted almost exclusively on Limoges blanks. This center bowl measures 14 1/2" in length and 10" wide. It is in excellent condition except for a shallow nick or flake out of the gold on one of the gold "fins" (there are four) molded along the top and bottom edges. While this could easily be touched up, we have not. This superb quality roses painting is not commonly found on Miler pieces, which is unfortunate since it is absolutely fabulous. My new favorite. Circa 1920's.
