Exceptional Saint Anne de Beaupré rosary. Very long, measuring 52" in length, not counting the end piece which adds another 6", for a total of 58". Sparkling brown beads, facet cut to catch the light, with very detailed gilt brass crucifix cross measuring 1 3/4" including attached bail. The interlocking links have little crosses inside each link, and there is a draped cross medallion attaching the long beaded rosary to the crucifix. On the back of the cross is engraved Anne de Beaupré and S...de S... (I can't make it out, possibly in French). Multi facetted beads, a very nice and very long rosary. Saint Anne (Sainte Anne) was revered for her many miracles performed in French Canada. Saint Anne de Beaupré in Canada is an important pilgrimage for Catholics, the site of the chapel, consecrated in 1889 by Cardinal Taschereau, Archbishop of Quebec, houses on either side of the main doorway, huge pyramids of crutches, walking-sticks, bandages, and other appliances left behind by the cripples, lame, and sick, who, having prayed to St. Anne at her shrine, have gone home healed.
