Magnificent Moser glass and gold ormolu jewel casket. Harrach produced the glass for most of the Moser Jewel caskets as Moser did not open their factory to produce their own glass until 1894. Cranberry and white spatter encased in crystal with an overshot treatment to the outside. Moser's signature heart shaped ball feet and double handles. The handles are truly double, not only is there a handle on each side, but they are double, one a heart and the other braided, both lavishly gilded with gold ormolu. The glass looks like spun sugar, seldom seen in this impressionistic type glass by Harrach. A truly outstanding example you would be hard pressed to find again. The casket stands 4 1/4" tall, 5" in length, and 3 1/4" deep. It opens and closes perfectly with a good hinge, the covered hinge in gilt ormolu with repoussed designs. Superb condition with no damage or wear, the gold is rich and pristine, the piece is perfect, and quite beautiful. This rare and extremely fabulous casket was produced by Moser with Harrach glass circa 1885, gorgeous collector's example.
