Illustrated with photographs and line drawings, complete historical account of the great 1906 earthquake and subsequent fire that burned for three days and leveled the city of San Francisco. The earthquake struck on April 18, 1906, and Tyler published this book later that year. Graphic first person accounts from survivors of the disaster that left 300,000 homeless and claimed the lives of 3,000 of those "in the path of the conflagration." Includes a chapter on the causes of earthquakes by Ralph Stockman Tarr of Cornell University. Excellent condition, binding and colors still wonderful, very, very minor wear to top and bottom spine from age.
