A c. 1820 painted silhouette of the profile of a young girl. She has long golden curls and there are also some gold highlights in her dress/shirt. The silhouette is framed with an oval mat in an early 20th century frame. The image itself is about 2 ½” high; the sight size of the oval opening in the frame is 2 ¾” x 3 ¼” and the overall frame size is 5 1/8” x 6 ½”. Very fine condition with no rips, stains, etc. No marking to indicate the name of the sitter or her location and I have not examined it out of the frame.
