A small, carved wooden horse on beveled platform in original paint, dating c. 1900. This was probably made as a child’s toy and is nicely carved and painted. Nice “movement” in the legs and sweep to the tail. The horse is 6” from nose to tail, and 6” high to the ears; the platform is 6 1/3” x 2 3/8”. The horses eyes are gouged out and they may have been glass; bridal is painted-on. Very fine condition with original surface. The right ear has lost its tip, a long time ago (possibly in the making, give the uniform color) and there are some minor paint smears on the animals left side. A nice shelf piece.
