A very colorful, Pratt Decorated English Pearlware Teapot w/ recessed lid. The teapot, which dates c. 1820, perhaps a bit earlier, is round, with a collar and large leaf and flower decoration in yellows/golds, blues, greens and browns. Both the handle and the spout are decorated. No maker’s marks, but a strong pearlware glaze and foliated terminals on the handle. The teapot measures 5 ¼” tall and the handle to spout distance is about 9 ½”.
Condition is very fine: the glaze and colors are very strong, and the teapot is clean and ready to use, if so desired. There are no cracks or line and except for a couple of small fingernail chips on the edge of the lid, and some very slight chipping under the spout, the teapot is wonderful condition. Similar to another pearlware teapot I have listed in my Ruby Lane shop.
