This decorated dome topped toleware Document Box is decorated in 3 colors – Red, Green and Yellow, and measures 8 ¼” x 4 ½”; it is 5 ¼” high to the top of the dome. The box has a decorated panel around the front and 2 sides showing red flowers and green leaves, and the lid, in addition to double yellow lines, has yellow swags. As do the sides of the lid and under the side panels. The lid and the top edge of the box are rolled over wire.

Condition is very good, with the expected wear to the paint decoration (the digital photographs probably enhance it a bit). There are no splits, cracks or breaks in the tin, surface oxidation is at a minimum and the lid closes securely, although the staple is missing (from the hasp). Part of a group of decorated toleware items I have in my Ruby Lane Shop. All are from our personal collection.
