Table-top or Miniature Candle Reflectors, usually in the form of tilt-top tables, were used to increase candle light for reading, sewing, etc. This polished brass example is in the form of a rectangular tilt-top table with rounded corners and tripod legs. With the top tilted up, it is 4 1/4" high (3 1/4" high with the top flat), and the top is 2 ¼" x 2". Serpentine legs and pinned construction. Very fine condition with no breaks or splits. A rare piece of early 19th century lighting. See also a similar item with a round top that I have listed on Ruby Lane.
