Table-top or Miniature Candle Reflectors, usually in the form of tilt-top tables, were used to increase candle light for reading, sewing, etc. This polished brass example is in the form of a round, tilt-top table with tripod legs. With the top tilted up, it is 3 3/8" high (2 ½" high with the top flat), and the top is 2 ¼" in diameter. Serpentine legs and pinned construction. Very fine condition with no breaks or splits. Some light surface rubbing/scratches on the top that may come out with brass polish, if the new owner cares to do so. A rare piece of early 19th century lighting. See also a similar item with a rectangular top that I have listed on Ruby Lane.
