A mid-19th century teapot, marked Wedgwood, and showing a multi-color underglaze transfer of Exotic Birds. The teapot is round in shape, with a pronounced collar. It stands about 5 ¼" high and 9 ½" from handle to spout. There are 3 separate transfers on this teapot: each side and the lid show different scenes.
The teapot is in very good condition, and useable! There are 2 small and shallow chips on the edge of collar, just behind the spout, and a very faint hairline on the base of the handle (hairline does not go through to the back of the handle and was very difficult to photograph because it is so faint). No other chips, cracks, lines or repairs. A nice, clean and very useable 19th century teapot. 2
