A wooden 19th Century Knife or Cutlery Box or Carrier with Heart Cut-out Handle and scalloped edge. The carrier retains its original red painted surface and there are tear-shaped cut outs in the center of the long-side. The box measures 15 ½" x 7 ¼" and is about 3 ¾" high to the top of the handle. Molding base, square/cut nail construction and thick (almost ½") wood. Surface is original with some expected scuffing in places. Very fine condition with no cracks, splits, rot, etc.; small chip on one corner of the base.
