A most unusual footed 19th Century Redware Food Mould. The oval or football shaped mould has a loop handle at one end and 3 small feet. It is ribbed and glazed, both inside and out. 7 1/8" x 3 1/8" x 1 5/8" high (the little feet are about ½"). Not a form that I am familiar with: most redware molds that you see are the round turk's head variety. Nice sturdy redware with speckled glaze on the underside. Very fine condition with no chips, cracks, lines or repairs. If anyone knows what this mould might have been used for, please let me know and I'll post an addendum.
