A large, late 19th C (c. 1880 or perhaps a bit earlier) Chinese Export Teapot decorated with a strawberry motif and having a molded, strap handle and large strawberry finial on the lid. The drum-shaped teapot is about 6" tall and the handle to spout distance is about 9". The side of the pot is decorated with hand-painted strawberries, little flowers and leaves and the shoulder and the edge of the rim have a string of leaves and flowers. The terminals of the strap handle have molded decoration and there are hand-enameled lines around the neck and the base (the base line is done in red and green). The teapot is in very fine condition: there are no chips, cracks, lines, etc. Some slight firing lines around the molded decoration where the handle joins the body, but this happens often and does not threaten the integrity of the pot.
