The double rose series is part of Harmony Garden and continues the story of Lord Byron the ladybug looking for love. Each rose was a limited edition of 5000 pieces done by Martin Perry Studios.
This one is the double Pink Rose and bears number 2077. It is nicely colored and has two full roses and then buds and smaller roses on the front and back. Lord Byron is talking to a friend while dining at a roadside cafe. There are two plates of food with utensils on the table. On the walls are signs showing the price of some of the food items. This has its original box and brochure.
Each piece is tinted by hand so there are differences from piece to piece which adds to their charm.

ABOUT HARMONY KINGDOM: For those of you not familiar with Harmony Kingdom, the story began in a small garden shed outside a cottage overlooking the Cotswold countryside. The first figures were produced in 1989 with a single artist carving netsuke type figures. A mold was made and the figures were made out of marble resin. The figures evolved from one piece to small animal figure boxes that opened and could hold a small item. Next there were carvings on the inside of the box. Now they have many artists but still retain the original charm especially with the funny expressions and names the very appropriate names given to each piece.
I have been a collector since 1997 and still continue to collect these quirky little boxes which make great gifts and are certainly a conversation piece for my guests. I hope you enjoy these too.
