A bejewelled fan from the past, this brooch is marvelous. The center is a large faux pearl surrounded by open dog earred prongs. Reaching out from all around the center are rows of delightfully gem colored oval cabochons with faux pearl accents above and below each stone and some have a large rhinestone at the base. The stones are Ruby Red, Emerald Green, Sapphire Blue, Amethyst and Amber in color. In between on a metal stalk is a single navette shaped rhinestone. Close to the center above the other stones are trios of sparkling white rhinestones. All stones and pearls are prong set. This is a very showy piece and attributed to Henry Schreiner well known for his colorful stones and unusual settings. The back has a metal ring attached with metal wires that hook over the ring which is construction used in other Schreiner jewelry.
SIZE & CONDITION: This is 1 3/4" high by 3 1/8" wide and is in Very Good condition. There is some very tiny scratching in the main faux pearl, some darkening of the metal on the back and small bit of patina on 3 prongs.
