This brooch has a large, thick oval, chrysoprase center. In the center of this, is a high relief sculpted container with palm fronds coming up from the top with three flowers. Each flower holds a Green ball. Resting above the container are a pair of three dimensional silver love birds. Framing this central piece are decorative open worked fronds all about. There are 4 more Green balls along the frame. This has the older Herper's safety catch which opens when rolled towards you and closes when rolled away. This is marked Hecho en Mexico DF 865 with the makers mark ABM in the center. There is another mark on the opposite side which I cannot make out. This is an early piece as the Herper's clasp was phasing out in the 1930's.
