Recently found in a very old wealthy local estate, this amazing and very rare pair of antique Victorian era curtain or drapery tiebacks is made of solid stamped sterling silver. They are not marked at all, but were carefully tested as 925 sterling silver by my jeweler. We don't know where they were made, but many antiques in this estate were of Indo Persian origin. The ornate design features griffins in the center surrounded by flowers and leaves. The light weight curtains or drapes slip through the centers and the hooks attach to the woodwork or wall via your own screw-in loop. They measure 2 1/4" long at the longest point at front center. The inside opening is 2" in diameter. They are both in excellent condition and were only very lightly hand-polished to bring out the design. The pair weighs 80 grams.
