From a local estate comes this beautiful vintage Taxco Mexican 980 silver link bracelet, a copy of William Spratling by Serafin Moctezuma, Mexico, c.1950's. Much to the annoyance of Spratling, Moctezuma copied his designs, including the mark "SM", which when turned upside down, looks like a stylized WS, similar to that of Spratling. I previously believed this piece to be a Spratling, so good a copy it is! Thanks to Anna.
This bracelet measures 7 3/4" long and 1 1/8" wide and weighs 82 grams. It has the chain and pin closure. It is stamped with the Moctezuma "SM" in a circle, and also "980" for the high grade silver content which is higher than sterling which is 925, and "Taxco". It has a gorgeous, warm patina and usage marks from normal wear, and is in excellent condition.
