This bracelet is from the 1950's Victorian Revival period and is a marvelous reproduction of the 1880's mesh slide bracelets. This one has a centerpiece of green swirled Lucite made to imitate jade. Surrounding it are purple rhinestones and tiny simulated pearls in an ornate antiqued gold-tone leaf design. The back opens, and the 3/4" wide bracelet mesh slides through and you clasp it shut. The end piece with the tassels then sits next to the 1 1/2" wide centerpiece on top of your wrist. One advantage of this design is that the bracelet is adjustable in length from 6"-7". The bracelet is in excellent condition with just some patina and old polish on the reverse side. I have not polished it as I like the antique look of the patina, but you may polish it with brass polish if you prefer a brighter gold finish.
