Hooray for the "Red, White, and Blue"! Or, "Anchors Aweigh!"
For either patriotic or nautical occasions, celebrate in high style with our unique hand-made art glass demi by one of costume jewelry's top designers, Miriam Haskell.
Our necklace and earrings set from the 1960s-1970s showcases milk glass lozenge-shaped art glass with red and blue stripes that look like they've been decoupaged by hand. These unique focal points are accentuated by plain milk glass lozenges and red and blue round glass beads.
The striped lozenge art glass elements measure 1 1/4" x 1/2", with 1/8" red and blue stripes. Each stripe is unevenly cut and "pasted" onto the lozenge, giving it a disarming hand-made look and texture.
There are two of these in the center portion of the necklace, flanked by 3/4" x 3/8" white lozenges and alternating red and blue round beads.
The alternating pattern extends to the extension chain, which has all blue round beads with a red bead drop. The trademark Haskell floret topped hook clasp has a blue center bead surrounded by white seed beads.
Each matching earring has a striped lozenge dangle, and a floret top that has a white center and alternating red and blue petals.
The necklace is 17" long and is 1/2" along the widest portions. The earrings are 2" long, with the same width, and have screwbacks.
All pieces are each marked twice with the designer's logo. The necklace has a Miriam Haskell stamp at the base of the hook and also has a oval hangtag. The earrings are stamped Haskell on the clips and Miriam Haskell on the contact points.
In very good to excellent condition. The art glass beads are in great shape, with little sign of wear. The gilt portions are patinated and rich in hue, with no visible verdigris.
