Art Nouveau styling. This trophy no doubt pre-dates the earliest attached shield which states 1924. There are a total of 15 shields ending with the date of 1956. They are fastened to a handsome turned wooden base. The cup itself has lovely proportions but has some issues. There is an area at the front where the plating has been rubbed off. Beside it is a dent or "bruise" as the English would call it. It is for that reason that I chose not to polish it. A white reflector was used in some of my photos to show more detail. The trophy is very dark. It looks great just the way it is. It is engraved as follows: "Presented by G.N. Gordon. K.C., M.P. to the Peterborough Curling Club for Junior Competition." M.P. stands for "Member of Parliament" in Canada
