Delicate floating seaweeds decorate each of the 5 wells of this pretty T & V porcelain oyster plate. So realistic it looks like they were taken out of a pressed leaves book. The scalloped rims are gilded as is the center sauce well. It's odd that this very plate is marked "Haviland & Co., Limoges, France" on page 87 of the Karsnitz "Oyster Plates" book. On the opposite page (86) the same mold but with different decorations is marked "Tressemann & Vogt, Limoges, France". In any case, the plate is gorgeous but difficult to photograph. I couldn't do it justice, it is much prettier in reality. In excellent condition, just minor rubbing to the gilded rim. 8 1/4" across (21 cm). FREE SHIPPING
