A fantastic piece of Royal Memorabilia! Presented by his Majesty King George V. This large & spectacular bronze trophy plaque or trophy shield was awarded in 1928 to the "62 Hamilton Collegiate Institute Cadet Corps" which was originally formed 8 Mar 1900, and affiliated with the 13th Regiment, later with R Hamilton Regiment May 12, 1922. It disbanded 11 Jan 1951. To see an image of the c1896 building please see the website of "Historic Hamilton". The trophy shield is of classic Art Deco design. Simply superb! It doesn't come better than this. I have not cleaned it, the patina is original. On the reverse are 3 bronze mounting bolts with threads on both ends. The shield weighs 10 pounds (4.5 kg approx.), is just over 19" high by 12.5" wide. In excellent condition.
