Not being an exotic weapons expert I had to do some research. Found at a flea market I was intrigued and had to buy it. A Kris or Keris is a slashing and thrusting dagger originating in Indonesia in 1360 AD but can now be found throughout Southeast Asia. The distinctive serpent shape blade is made of layers of different metals creating a water/wave effect which is called "pamor". The sheath can be various woods, Ivory or precious metals. In this case it is Timoho wood which makes it desirable. Fantastic patina. The condition of the Kris on offer here is very good but has issues as follows: A hole was drilled or punched into the tip of the sheath, it is more prominent on one side than the other. In addition I have cleaned the rust off one side of the blade but not of the other. Please see my photos. That's it. I would date it c1920. The total length tip to hilt is 19.5" or 49.5 cm. The blade is 14.75" or 37.5 cm. FREE SHIPPING
