Was this stunning album cover created by an American POW in Japan? We see the American flag, the rising sun and a globe featuring the Americas all head lined with the French word "Mémoire". Very rare, one of a kind. Amazing war folk art. During the 2 World Wars prisoners of war created all sorts of wonderful objects of this type such as little trinket boxes or cigarette cases. The only material at hand was often straw which was then colored with ink. Very unusual to see a straw art object of this size! Both covers have highly detailed designs. Please see all my images. The empty album is in fantastic condition. All but 1 page and both inside covers have minor blemishes, all other pages and their onion skin protectors are in mint condition. Some of the tiny stars of the US flag are missing. The panel's sizes are 10.5" x 8.5". FREE SHIPPING
