. 12" h x 9.5" across (30.5 x24.2 cm) SILVER PLATED, 3 HANDLED
This is one gorgeous 3 handled Trophy Cup but it does have some issues. If you don't mind the loss of plating here and there or a couple of shallow dents, you should consider adding this to your collection or spiffing up a corner of the office or den. Made by the Meriden Silver Co. of Conn. it makes homage to Bacchus, the God of Wine. Note his image at the top of all 3 handles which then end in hoofs. Grape vines decorate the top and grape leaves are entwined at the bottom. The inscription is in German and translates as follows: "PRESENTED TO THE NATIONAL ATHLETIC CLUB ON ITS 25th ANNIVERSARY by the NEWARK ATHLETIC CLUB JUNE 1908". Please see my photos for more info. Fully marked.
