14.5" Silver Plated Art Nouveau Trophy awarded to the Grand Champion Steer at the "Ontario Provincial Winter Fair" in 1941 but the trophy itself dates to pre-1898. It was made by the "Barbour Silver Co. of Hartford, CT which became part of the "International Silver Company" in 1898. It is large enough to serve as a champagne bucket as seen in my photos. It has been professionally polished. There is some loss to the plating but it is confined to 2 of the 4 petals decorating the base. A large and spectacular quality trophy! Note how the handles form a perfect heart. 14.5" high x 8" wide at the top.
