A delightful and very attractive Regency penwork tea caddy featuring painted floral sprays and foliage on all four sides as well as the canted lid. The box is possibly of sycamore and sits on four brass bun feet. It retains its working key. Inside the lid is lined with red velvet and the two lidded compartments are largely lined with their original foil. The overall condition is excellent for age. Maximum width 7.5 ins (19.5cm), depth 4.5 ins (12cm), height 6.5 ins (17cm). Weight 664 grams.
