This pretty little walnut spice chest retains its original cream paint with duck-egg blue trim and has eight drawers which would have been used for the storage of multiple spices. The mushroom shaped handles are painted brass. This appears to be of American origin. A delightful folk art spice chest for the kitchen or dining area! Height 10.75 ins (27cm), width 8 ins (21cm), depth 2.25 ins (5.5cm). Weight 1114 grams. In very good condition for age, with some losses to the paint as can be seen in the images. This item can be seen in the book, "Antique Boxes - Inside and Out", on page 103.
