A vintage ladies’ pocket watch with wristwatch holder, which basically converts the pocket watch into a wristwatch. The movement is not signed but there is the notation ‘7065’ on the inner casing and the inscription ‘ACM 0,800'. This is a fascinating example of the transition from pocket watch to wristwatch. This piece started life as a pocket watch and with the new fashion it was able to be then worn on the wrist. This was made possible by the addition of a most ingenious mechanism (potentially removable) and original tan leather band. This item had now been recycled into the latest fashion! The pocket watch is currently working. The diameter of the pocket watch measures 1.18 ins (3cm), maximum length with band 8.42 ins (21.4cm). Weight 24 grams. This item can be seen in the book, "How the Watch was Worn - A Fashion for 500 Years", on page 235.
