This image depicts a seated aristocratic and handsome young man. He wears a satin waistcoat with black neck tie and darker coat. His obvious accessory is a thick watch chain which is attached to the buttonhole of his waistcoat. The daguerreotype is housed in a decorative full case with a red velvet patterned interior. This is a very crisp image in good condition. There is some tarnishing around the perimeter of the photo and some mild spotting and some slight tarnish on the mat. There is slight wear on the outer case, which has a broken spine. Sixth plate. Case measures width 3 ins (7.6cm) x height 3.5 ins (8.9cm). Weight 112 grams.
