This is a wall-fixed or portable mirror with two candle sconces or holders, with extendable arms for the candle sconces and bracket that can fold to a small size. This could well be used for travel. The mirror rotates to reveal a standard and a magnifying mirror surrounded with timber. The bracket is of steel and has two keyhole shaped slots so it could be quickly attached to and removed from a wall. This has the expanding arm that goes to a central bar. To this are attached two further arms which terminate in candle sconces with a narrow circular section beneath for catching wax and the actual candle holder can be screwed off. At the top of the central bar is attached the mirror which swivels as previously described. The whole item can fold up to a small size which would have made it easy for transport or storage. The overall condition is good for age with some tarnish to the metal work, but the mirrors are in very good condition and one magnifies alarmingly!!! This would be a great talking point for your home and a feature amongst a collection of unusual candle holders and mirrors. Height 15 ins (38cm). Weight 1184 grams. This item appears in my book, “Antique Boxes, Inside and Out” on page 272.
