Original child’s ‘Mickey Mouse’ novelty wristwatch made by Ingersoll Watch Company, New York. These watches were first issued by Ingersoll at the 1933 Chicago World Fair. This example is manual wind (though not currently working), has a circular dial with black Arabic numerals and Mickey motifs on a metal band. The back of the movement is stamped ‘Ingersoll Watch Co. Made in USA. Patented Nov.14.22 July 2.18 Serial Number 89863677’. As mentioned above, this watch is not running and it does have wear to the face. This is a delightful collector’s piece! Diameter 1.02 ins(2.6cm), maximum length 5.7 ins (14.5cm). Weight 32 grams. This item can be seen in the book, "How the Watch was Worn - A Fashion for 500 Years", on page 264. Insured Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA would be $33.50 USD - with no tracking is cheaper. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
