This is an unusual and complete cloak pin as it comprises two penannular rings with pins joined with a silver chain. The rings and the head of each pin are decorated with engraving and small turquoises. The whole piece appears to be of silver and has a mark that is most likely to be the French “boar’s head” for mid-late 19th century. These pins would have been used to attach the sides of a lightweight cloak or other garment. The condition is good for age with the small defect of a slight bend of the tip of the end of one of the pins. This piece would make a lovely addition to a collection of more unusual jewellery. Length of each pin 1.75 ins (4.4cm). Weight 10 grams.
