This is a most appealing boxed set of three smoking accessories. One is a classic pipe, one is for cigars and the other for cigarettes. They are held in a six-sided paper-covered box of marbled paper in shades of green and when the box is opened it reveals a pale turquoise silk lining to the lid with a label for ‘London Fashion, Guaranteed Product, Genuine Briar Inlay’. The main section of the box is covered with plush velvet with fitted spaces for the three items. Each of these consists of a black mouthpiece with tan-coloured end, all in bakelite. The box shows some signs of wear particularly along the edges, but the actual pipes/holders appear in almost unused condition. All three pieces are marked either ‘Czech Slovak’ or “Slovak’. This would be a most interesting addition to a collection of tobacciana or bakelite or Art Deco items. Length 6.75 ins (17cm), width 3.5 ins (9cm), depth 1.75 ins (4.25cm). Weight 154 grams. This item can be seen in the book, "Antique Boxes - Inside and Out", on page 169.
