This charming pendant mirror appears most likely of Chinese origin and is embroidered with blue flowers on a cream heavy silk fabric. It is edged with blue and cream braid. The original mirror is present. The mirror hangs from a deep blue cord with a decorative knot and two long blue tassels with silver metal rings. There is some slight fraying of the fabric and if the item was to be handled, it might be advisable to carefully re-glue the mirror in position in one corner – otherwise the complete item is in good condition for age. This would be a delightful small item to add to a collection of Oriental fashion accessories and embroideries. Complete length and width of mirror 3.25 ins (8.3cm). Weight 32 grams. This item appears in my book "Chatelaines, Utility to Glorious Extravagance" on page 276.
