This is an intriguing tiny little box which is titled ‘The Laurel Ladies Boudoir Safety Razor’. Inside are labels on the interior of the lid and the base of the box. The mini razor has a screwable handle and has two razors in their original tiny packets. One can only imagine that this little item could only have been used for discreet removal of tiny facial hairs as it would not have been practical for any other use! It is a quaint reminder of a previous age and because of its tiny size could also be included amongst the accoutrements of a doll. The condition is very good for age – the exterior paint is slightly worn and there is slight rust on the blades. Box measures 1.5 ins (3.7cm) x 1 ins (2.5cm). Weight 20 grams. This item can be seen in my book, “Antique Boxes, Inside and Out” on page 389.
