This miniature buttonhole watch features a blue enameled surround measuring just 1/2 inch (12.5mm) in diameter with the compartment for the mechanism at the rear 1 ins. (25mm) in diameter. The total weight is 14 grams. A central case extension with the dial housed atop a stalk allows this extended housing to be inserted through a jacket lapel buttonhole, revealing just the watch face. The clockface is in good condition. There is some wear to the back compartment. The watch ticks when wound though one must be careful with the winding button as it is a little insecure. This item appears in the book, “How the Watch was Worn, A Fashion for 500 Years” on page 197.
