Stork scissors have a long history for use in sewing/needlework. This example is in steel and is delicately fashioned with decoration on the body and legs of the bird in a feather design. There appears to be no maker’s mark. The scissors fit nicely in the hand and cut virtually to the tip. These are in lovely condition for age with just the tiniest amount of rust on the beak. This would be a lovely item to add to a collection of scissors or to place in your own 19th century needlework box. Length 3.5 ins (8.8cm). Weight 6 grams.
