This is a delightful set of small buttons in gilt metal and black enamel in the form of pocket watches with a black dial with gilt numerals and the form of a tiny bow and winder at the top. The shanks are of the same gilt metal. They are still stitched with pink thread to the original pink presentation card. The condition is excellent for age. These would make a nice little addition to a collection of unusual buttons or could be added to the garment of one totally dedicated to the watch. Diameter of each button 0.5 ins (1.2cm). Total weight 14 grams. This item appears in my book, “How the Watch was Worn, A Fashion for 500 Years” on page 216.
