This is a small/miniature chest or cabinet with drawers for jewellery. The chest is covered with fine Tunbridge tessellated mosaic, perspective cube marquetry and Vandyke parquetry on the top and front and on the knobs of the small internal drawers. The top three drawers have their original lining of deep blue paper with gold stars. The bottom drawer is lined with faded velvet and just possibly had a central divider. The chest has its original working key. The condition is excellent for age apart from a slight mark on the bottom drawer knob and a fine crack on one of the cubes on the lid. Length 3.75 ins (9.5cm), width 4.5 ins (11.5cm), height 6 ins (15.25cm). Weight 524 grams. This item can be seen in the book, "Antique Boxes - Inside and Out", on page 27. Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA would be $33.00 USD – with no tracking is cheaper. This item is covered by own insurance policy. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
