This is a very sweet small brooch watch of turquoise blue engine-turned enamel with gilt swags. It consists of a bow at the top with a secure pin at the back, a watch hook with enamel decoration at the front and a ring passing to a spherical small watch with additional gilt bands and the tiny face of the watch pointing downwards. Its winder is on the side. The item is in very good condition for age with one small area of enamel loss near the face (see image) and some very slight scratches to the glass. It is currently in working order. This would be a most charming little brooch watch to wear. Total length 1.6 ins (4cm), diameter 0.75 ins (1.8cm) Weight 18 grams. This item appears in my book, “How the Watch was Worn, A Fashion for 500 Years” on page 189.
