This is a charming piece of Tunbridge ware in the form of a small table. The treen is of an intricate small Vandyke pattern mosaic. In the centre is a groove which has multiple holes for pins, which when inserted are held firmly in place. The top has a deep blue velvet-covered pin cushion which may also be an emery. The whole piece is in excellent condition. It was acquired a number of years ago from Nerylla Taunton who is well known as the author of a definitive book on needlework tools. This would make a charming addition to a collection of Tunbridge pieces, in particular those related to needlework, or for collectors of pin holders and cushions. Height 1.5 ins (3.8cm), width 1.75 ins (4.5cm). Weight 30 grams.
