This is a book-form box containing a paint box in the lid, brushes and stencils to enable the owner to create his or her own advertising material. Instructions for use are included and the box was marketed as ‘The Econasign’, early 20th century. It is very interesting to find a box in book form. It is a significant plus to have the contents which gives a glimpse of earlier techniques. The leather hinge is distressed and the paint box has been used. Length 13 ins (33cm), width 8 ins (20.25cm), depth 2 ins (5cm). Weight 1678 grams. This item can be seen in the book, "Antique Boxes - Inside and Out", on page 282.
